The Governor of PA just announced that all non-family members entering homes must wear masks.  In addition, all those entering PA from ANY other state must have been tested for C-19 72 hours prior, with a negative result.  Exceptions for people that regularly cross the state lines for commuting to work.

He is effectively shutting this business down again! As most of you know, I cannot wear a mask for more than a few minutes at a time.  It’s very difficult for me to go to the home center with a mask, to buy materials let alone try to work for long periods of time without getting all the O2 possible. With one lung operating with diminished capacity, my daily O2 requirements are just barely met without wearing a mask.

Here is an excerpt from Mcall.com:

Travel

  • Anyone who visits from another state must have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arriving in Pennsylvania. If someone cannot get a test or chooses not to, they must quarantine for 14 days after they arrive.
  • Pennsylvania residents who visit other states are required to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before their return home or to quarantine for 14 days upon return.

These new rules do not apply to people who commute to and from another state for work or medical treatment.

Masks

  • Masks must be worn indoors and outdoors if you are away from your home.
  • When outdoors, a mask must be worn if you are not able to remain physically distant (at least 6 feet away) from someone not in your household for the entire time you are outdoors.
  • When indoors, masks will now be required even if you are physically distant from people not in your household. This means that even if you are able to be six feet apart, you will need to wear a mask while inside if with people other than members of your household.

This order applies to every indoor facility, including homes, retail establishments, gyms, doctors’ offices, public transportation, and anywhere food is prepared, packaged or served.

State officials acknowledged that they are relying on voluntary compliance for these new mandates. At my age, with the underlying conditions and as much as I would like to be a rebel and fly in the face of these new mandates, as a good citizen and concerns for my own family, I’m afraid I have to comply.

I’m sorry to all those,  whom we just started working with again, but all our efforts are now thwarted again!  But perhaps we can continue to work on outdoor projects, weather permitting. We’ll see…

These new mandates and restrictions on our personal freedoms are in effect starting Friday the 20th.  As soon as I know more or receive additional information, I will post it here.

Thank you!

George
